Q & A

HOW MUCH DOES THE EXCHANGE COST?

Current pricing is $1,900. This is set to account for fluctuations in travel costs. Any unused money will be reimbursed at the end of the exchange.

WHAT IS COVERED FOR MY CHILD IN THE EXCHANGE COST?

Covered by the cost of the exchange are the following: Bus transportation (To NYC, Washington, Philadelphia, excursions in Denmark, and to and from the airports), round trip flights, excursion related expenses such as some entry fees, and housing in Denmark.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED FOR MY CHILD IN THE EXCHANGE COST?

Not covered are the following: Travel Insurance, meals for partners in the United States, and weekend activities.

HOW MANY STUDENTS TAKE PART?

We are limited to the number of students Kruses has in a class. Usually it will be around 26-30 students. To the best of our ability we will keep this even between East and West.

WILL MY CHILD STILL HAVE SCHOOLWORK?

Yes. Students are expected to discuss with their teachers the work that they will miss while on the exchange. It is the responsibility of the student to meet any deadlines placed on them.

WHAT ARE MY RESPONSIBILITIES AS A HOST?

As a host, your child's partner is your child which means you are responsible for meals, transportation, and discipline. You do not need to do anything out of the ordinary unless you would like to do so.

IS THIS EXCHANGE INSURED?

Due to varying costs and preferences, you will be responsible for providing your own travel insurance.

WHAT IF MY CHILD GETS SICK?

Denmark has socialized medicine so if there is a medical issue with your child, we will be able to seek medical attention.

WILL I BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH MY CHILD?

Yes. The homes and school have WiFi and you can get an international plan from your phone company. We would prefer that students communicate with home as little as necessary (including with friends) so that they can truly immerse themselves in the experience and enjoy the setting.

WHAT IS THE IDEAL APPLICANT?

Students must be Juniors and Seniors during the year of the exchange. We would like students who are motivated, engaging, and have good academic and behavioral records. Students do not need to be in a particular class or class level to participate.
